Gin Clifton is a powerhouse of resilience and inspiration. As a single mother of four, an accomplished accountant, and the founder of GinnyWren, LLC, Gin has built a life that reflects her core belief: that every person carries within them the strength to overcome, to heal, and to thrive.
Through her memoir Finding Your Kick-Ass Button, her speaking engagements, and her advocacy work, Gin dedicates herself to empowering teenage mothers, women in prison, and survivors of abuse and generational trauma. Her message is simple and powerful: you have a kick-ass button inside you — and it’s time to find it.
Gin’s Story
Gin was born in Augsburg, Germany, to a military family. Her childhood was defined by frequent moves, cultural displacement, and the invisible wounds that come from growing up in a household where trauma was passed down through generations. By the time she was a teenager, she had already learned to survive — but survival, she would come to understand, was only the beginning.
Through education, faith, and an unshakeable will to create a better life for herself and her children, Gin rebuilt herself from the ground up. She earned her accounting degree, built a business, and — most importantly — found her voice. That voice became the foundation of Finding Your Kick-Ass Button.
Today, Gin speaks to audiences across the country — at conferences, community organizations, schools, prisons, and book clubs — sharing the lessons she learned the hard way so that others don’t have to. She is a living testament to the power of resilience, the importance of community, and the transformative potential of telling your truth.
